Novice Training
Novice is the first step in your adult dog's education. Novice training is a set of good manners, which will enable you and your dog to enjoy many years of happy companionship. The training will provide you with control of your dog in embarrassing and sometimes dangerous situations. Between the ages of 8-18 months, a staggering number of healthy dogs are given up to Humane Society shelters or municipal pounds. The majority of these animals had developed owner-created behavior problems. Novice training can prevent this scenario by educating both the owner and the dog in the dog's early stages of adulthood before mistakes are made.
Course Structure
The Novice course is 8 weeks in length comprised of a one-hour session per week. All classtime is spent actively working your dog on the floor. The fee is $170.00 and is payable in advance to secure a spot in the course. While in the course, your dog will learn to:
> Walk properly on a leash. Automatically sit when you come to a halt.
> Sit, stand and lay down on command
> Stay, regardless of distraction, in each of the above positions
> To come to you on command regardless of distractions
The communication and control that you will gain through this training can be applied to other problem behaviour such as excessive barking, jumping up, aggression and house training difficulties.
